Hou Hits Roof After Ollie Dig

Gerard Houlier has sparked another war of words by letting rip at Ian Holloway.
The Aston Villa boss is seething that Ollie slagged off his bid for Charlie Adam but let Kenny Dalglish off the hook.

Both clubs have launched swoops for the Tangerines skipper yet Holloway singled Houllier's conduct out for criticism.

The prickly Villa chief said: "I noticed this weekend that I was not treated the same way as my friend Kenny Dalglish.

"Ian said 'it must not come from Kenny' when Kenny makes a bid, 'it comes from the club'.

"He called me all sorts of things because our club, officially, did the right things, and went to them.

"He went back to the press having a go at me."

Villa bid £3.5million for Adam, who has since had a transfer request turned down, while Liverpool offered £4million.

Holloway told Houllier to clear off for tabling such a small deal — but was sympathetic to Dalglish and blamed the club's bosses for coming up with the sum.

And Houllier added: "I was stunned, but hey, easy target, as I've said.

"I'm not happy with him, I'm not happy with what he said. I think it's very, very unfair."
